The chief is currently absent, so in the meantime, and without being able to officially become a Cleaner yet, Ludo accompanies Riyo as an apprentice on a mission to exterminate the trash beasts in a contaminated area.

While he waits for the chief to return so he can officially become a member of the Cleaners, Ludo gradually uncovers the mysteries of Terra and learns how the organization that Engine belongs to actually works, although he feels discouraged because he still doesn’t know how to use the power of his vital instrument.
